The "Kung Sheung Daily Press' of 10/3, in a long editorial, opposes Income Tax and says that, in any case, such direct taxation should be the business of the new elected Municipal Council.

Comments on International Matters.

(a) The "Kung Sheung Daily Press" of 11/3, devotes considerable space to the Moscow Conference. The Russian attitude of self defence against 'the West' is generally approved.

(b) The "Wah Shiang Pao" of 11/3, is greatly perturbed about the successful rehabilitation of Japan under American tutelage and warns China against 'the resurrection of Japan'.

(c) The "Hwa Shiang Pao" of 12/3, names General Marshall, representing U.S.A., as prime source of foreign interference in Chinese internal affairs.

(a) The "Wah Kiu Yat Po" of 12/3, welcomes Air Agreement with Great Britain covering five important air lines.

(e) The "Kung Sheung Daily Press" of 14/3, devotes much space to a very confused argument about the attitude of Britain, America, and China towards each other, and toward China. The conclusion seems to be that Britain in indulging in Balance of Power politics, and that no good will come to China from the Moscow Conference. The "Sing Tao Jih Pao" of 15/3 reports that China refuses to be discussed and will not attend the conference.
